Shizhu Mountain Scenic Area

The porch at the foot of Shizhu Mountain has a width of 29 meters and a depth of 6meters. It has 16 stone pillars engraved with flowers. Its roof is decorated with yellow glazed tiles. The top of the eaves are engraved with the design of "two dragons playing with the pearl", which is filled with national characteristics.

Shizhu Temple is situated on the cliff of the hillside. It is one of the major scenic spots of Shizhu Mountain scenic area. It was initially built in year Dazhong ,Tang dynasty and given the name Lingbaoguan at that time. It was a temple mainly devoting to Taoism and had Confucianist mixture at the same time. It gained its present name in the ninth year of Qiandao, Song dynasty. Shizhu Mountain is mainly composed of Jiu Xian pavilion(Xianjun building),Yuhuang pavilion(Tianjun palace),the Hall of Earth, the Palace of Goddess of Mercy, the Tower of Buddhist relics, Ziyun Building, the Temporary Palace of Jade Emperor, the Palace of Great Sorrow. The person consecrated is Mr.Jiuxian surnamed He in Han dynasty. Among them, the one with most exuberant incense and candle is Jiuxian Pavilion, with many pilgrims praying for dreams.

Shizhu Mountain is always famed for "elegant than the Drum Mountain". There are plenty of unique rocks and profound holes in the mountain, such as Purple Cloud Hole, Heaven Hole, Exceedingly High Hole, the Hole of Sun and Moon, the Platform of Picking Star, the Dragon Nest, the Craneshadow Stone, the flying stone, the Stone of Mandarin Duck, the stone of Chessboard, the Stone of Turtle and Snake, the Stone of Pantao.

from fuqing downtown to Shizhu Mountain , you can take buses directly arriving at Shizhu Mountain in Shuinan, Ximen station or Yuanhong road. The whole distance is 10 kilometers with a fare of2.5yuan per person; from Fuzhou to Shizhu Mountain, you can take buses leaving for Fuqing at southern bus station, Quantou passenger depot(northern station) with a fare of 10-16yuan per person and a distance of 43kilometers), then transfer to the bus to Shizhu Mountain at Hong road.
