Blessing orange is the city fruit of Fuzhou with an annual yield of 100,000 tons, which is about half the yield of fruits all over the city. The market appearance period begins several days before or after the spring festival of lunar year. It enjoys great popularity due to its red color and sweet juice and its same pronunciation with "blessing" and "luck". The habitat of fu orange is mostly distributed on the banks of downriver of min  river. At the time of late autumn and early winter, the both banks of min river are covered with layers of green trees ,with red fruits dotting among the branches colorfully. It is reputed as "red orange at min river."
