Currently there is no airport in Longyan. The preparation work for constructing an airport is in progress. Tourists can first arrive at Xiamen airport and then go to Longyan City.

Longyan City is accessible by railway. The Meikan railway goes through it. Trains from Fuzhou to Shenzhen and from Guangzhou to Xiamen both pass the City. Another railway line starting from Fujian province, connected to Jingjiu railway Line which links Beijing and Hong Kong, has been under operation. A third railway line from Ganzhou to Longyan will be under construction within this year.
Longyan Railway Station lies in the northeast part of Xinluo District, Longyan City, and is close to East Denggao Road. Bus Number One can bring you to the railway station. The Zhangping District of Longyan is situated on the Yingxia railway and is an important channel for Longyan to communicate with other cities.
