Civilian Aviation

Jinjiang airpot of Quanzhou was opened to air traffic in 1996. Now it has direct flight to and from cities, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. Moreover, it has established charter business to and from Hongkong and Manila.

The airport is located on the east side of Donghuan Road, Jinjiang City, and 12 km away from the urban areas of Quanzhou.

Railway Transportation

The railway of Quanzhou, namely the Zhang (ping) Quan (Zhou) Xiao (Cuo) railway, has now opened traffic to Wuyi Mountain, Dragon Rock and Ganzhou of Jiangxi province, etc.

The railway station is located in the east suburbs of urban areas with a convenient traffic. The ticket hall is on the ground floor. There are also booking offices in urban areas.

Highways

Quanzhou is connected to other parts of Fujian province, Guangdong, Jiangxi, and Zhengjiang, etc, through the highways of Fu (zhou)Quan(zhou) and Quan(zhou)Xia(men).

It has all sorts of passenger traffic enterprises, state owned, collectively owned, cooperative and privately run. With long-distance passenger traffic and urban passenger traffic, it is quite convenient for tourists to travel around Quanzhou by way of highways.

Waterways

By the end of 1998, the city has 24 port piers and 39 berths, of which 3 are first-class ports, 7are second-class. It has a throughput of 15,810,000 tons per year.

Buses

The service time of special bus routes is from 6 a.m. in the morning till 10 p.m. at night. Buses go through urban areas as well as the suburbs and stop at all the tourist spots along the routes.  They are not allowed to stop at waves halfway between stops but pick up passengers till they arrive at stops. The bus fare in urban areas is from 1 to 2 RMB. Tourists should buy the tickets after boarding the bus. The front of the buses is labeled with striking starting and ending places. 

There are 22 bus routes (the terminal stations of buses) connecting all the scenic spots in urban areas, of which the special tourist route 601go to and from Qingyuan Mountain, Paradise on water, Kaiyuan Temple, Fragrant Grass Garden, Tianhou Palace, Exhibition City and amusement park every 16 minutes, which is convenient for self-support travelers. If you want to go to scenic spots in the vicinity of Quanzhou, there are express buses that directly go to the location of those scenic spots.

Taxis

There are a large number of taxies in Quanzhou and they may be spotted everywhere. The taxi fare is 8 yuan prior to the start of the trip plus 1.2 yuan for each additional kilometer. Apart from long-distance strip, for which tourists need to decide on the fare with the driver, others are all charged according to the price-marking weigher.
