It was in Linfeng and Chuanfan caves where the sites of the Paleolithic era relics were found. First discovered in fall 1999, some 400 of a total of 1,200 square meters of the sites have been excavated. The findings in Chuanfan cave included some floor paved with stone, the work was estimated to have been done some 20,000 years ago, which made it the first of its kind in the country. Among the items unearthed are over 800 pieces from stone, animal bones and horns and fossils of some 20 different animals, some of which date back to 180,000 years ago. Besides these ancient relics, Wanshouyan offers a spectacular karst landscape.
