The Historic blocks of the Ming and Qing Dynasties are conveniently located in the downtown area and are easily accessible. There are two national key cultural relic protection sites: two memorial archways (in the Ming Dynasty and Z Hangzhou Confucius Temple), and one Zhangzhou municipal cultural relic protection site (Temple of Wang Sheng), former residence of modern times writer Yang Sao. The two sites contain the remains of stone memorial archways and the Xu’s Ancestral Hall of the descendants of the Xu family in Taiwan . The blocks show the 3 kinds of old-style civil architects preserved in very good condition, including the riding building shop front, the building showing Chinese and western combined styles, and the civil residences showing the South Fujian style. There exist many historic buildings, such as Luocuo Alley and No. 94 Taiwan Road, as well as more than 20 shops with age-old brands along the streets (such as Tian Yi Shou Medicine Store and Datong Stationary Store). It is a place with a strong cultural spirit that combines a variety of folk traditions, for example, folkway articles, traditional snacks, wood engraving and traditional folk art ( Xian g Opra and Jin Singing).
