Brief Introduction to the Scenic Spot

The Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center was built in 1958. Since it was built up, eight " Number One " have been created here for the development of China's aerospace industry. All Chinese felt proud. On April 21, 1970, the first artificial satellite rose up from here. On December 26, 1975, the first returning-type artificial satellite was fired off here. On May 18, 1980, the first long-range carrier rocket flew to the target territorial airspace over the Pacific Ocean. On September 20, 1981, it was the first time to sent three satellites to the space with rocket.

At present, the scenic spots that has been opened to the inland tourists are: the Satellite Launch Site, the Direction and Control Center, the Changzheng No.2 Rocket, the Test Center, the Exhibition Hall of the History of the Satellite Launch Center, the Cemetery of revolutionary martyrs, the Dongfeng Reservoir, the Desert Huyang Forest, etc.
