Brief Introduction to the Scenic Spot
The Ruins of the Lijia Dragon Palace distributes four rock carving sites- Daheigou, Yeniugou, Huiwanzi and Qigelv. More than 300 images in 55 groups of pictures are found in these four sites.
The Daheigou Rock Carving is a rock carving with the richest content among the rock carvings having been found in Subei County so far. 190 images in 34 groups of pictures have been found in the Daheigou Rock Carving. Most contents of the pictures are hunting, browsing, practicing skills, riding horse and fighting, etc. Besides spotted deer, bighorn, urus and wild camel, there are elephant, tiger and some other animals painted in these pictures. Beside the rock paintings, there are the title of the Biaosa (a emperor) reign of the Sui Dynasty, the time of which is later than the time of the paintings carved, and some people's signatures and mottos. These images of persons and animals on the pictures were all knocked out with a certain tool. However, the trace of cutting with a knife can't be found.
The Yeniuguo Rock Carving is located in the small A'ergelitai, southeast of the Yanchiwan Town. It includes nine groups of pictures, more than twenty images. There are grazier, camel, bighorn, urus, etc. in the pictures. The pictures are made by beating. These pictures mainly reflect the nomadism of the ancient nomadic people.
The Huiwanzi Rock Carving is located in the Heiwanzi, northeast of Shibaocheng Town. The pictures distribute in the south of Huiwanzi. Although there are only two pictures, they are relatively large. These two pictures are composed of 22 images, such as, the man riding a horse, camel, sheep, etc. They mainly reflect the life of the ancient nomadic people.
The Qigelv Rock Carving is located in the Qigelv Ravine, 18.5 kilometers away from the northeast of Shibaocheng Town. The pictures mainly distribute in the north side of the middle of the Qigelv Ravine. There are 74 images in 15 groups of pictures in total. The scene of the pictures is magnificent. Some pictures are 4 meters high and 3 meters wide. The biggest image of the camel reaches 94 centimeters. These pictures mainly reflect the life of the ancient nomadic people.
