The history of Carved Bottle Gourds has been more than 100 years. This is also a special art form of the folk arts in the area of Linxia. People use two needles when they carve the bottle gourds. One of the needles is thicker and the other one is thinner. The thicker one is used for drawing the outlines and the thinner one is for carving.
