Jianshan Natural Protection Zone covers an area of 100.41 square kilometers.The altitude here is 820 to 3113 meters. This zone is situated in the mixed point of North Subtropical humid climate zone and temperate humid zone. In Jianshan Natural Protection Zone, giant pandas and their habitat are mainly protected. Various breeds of plants are growing in this zone, some of them are national protected, such as the red beans firs and so on. Giant pandas living in this Natural Protection Zone belong to a small colony. The number of giant pandas is about 7 or 8.
