Brief introduction

Lijia Dragon Palace (Li is a surname in Chinese, Lijia means Li’s familiy) contained three sets, the upper, the middle and the lower of grand constructions in Tang Dynasty (618-907). There were a forest of towering buildings and grand palaces here.

The main sacrificial hall, Longxi Ancestral Hall, is located beside Weihe River in Renshoushan Government Office in the southern suburb of the county town of Longxi. The constructions in the temple contain the monumental archway, Taibai Restaurant, and the sacrificial area. The newly built Main Sacrificial Hall is situated in the middle compound. The memorial tablets of three famous Li people in the history, Li Lizhen (the first ancestor of Li’s family), Li’er [Laozi, or Lao-tzu. Laozi is the name of a legendary Taoist philosopher, the writer of the early Chinese text better known in the West as the Daodejing, and the moniker of a deity in the pantheon of organized “religious Daoism” that arose during the later Han Dynasty (206BC-220)] and Li Chong [the last Protector General of the Western Regions prior to Eastern Han] are set up in the hall.

Lijia Dragon Palace has been the sacrificial place for all Li’s descendants from Tang Dynasty on.
