Because on a ten-meter-high earth platform there is a Thor Temple which was built in the middle Ming Dynasty, hence, it got the name “Leitai”, which was a place to sacrifice Thor. The tomb is divided into the front room, middle room and behind room. There are 231 cultural relics made of gold, copper, iron, jade, bone , stone , china , paint and so on and 99 bronze chariots with honored guards of tomb figure unearthed from this tomb. The most prized antiques in the tomb are bronze galloping horses. The greenish Bronze Galloping Horse, also named the “horse with hoof on a swallow”, has a height of 34.5cm, length of 45cm and weight of 7.15kg. The wonder is that the galloping modeling of horse surpassed the flying swallow with three hoofs and its head and tail rose in the air, it steel keeps well balanced, completely complying with the equilibrium theory of mechanics, reflecting the rich cultural contents of the “Heaven Horse”. It was cast with such excellent skill and can be reputed as the masterwork of the Bronze Art. Now the original of Bronze Galloping Horse is housed in Gansu Provincial Museum.

Leitai Han Tomb is 20 minutes’ walk from Dayun Temple and it is the nearest scenic spot from Haizang Temple, about 1 kilometer. Take a taxi from South Tower Building within the starting price or Take a No.2 bus.
