In March 1988, craftsman Mr. Zhang Jidao took part in Gansu Artcrafts Exhibition and China Folk Art Exhibition respectively with his woodcarving craftworks based on a popular folk story: A mouse takes a wife. His woodcarving craftworks obtained acknowledgement and recognition from experts and scholars and now the original was kept in National Public Bureau of Culture. Today, the craftworks according to the folk story produced in Wuwei are based on part of the original of Mr. Zhang Jidao. The craftsmen design the entire models, molds and adopt quite advanced elaborate casting technology with total manual working procedures. They use bronze as main material to produce bronze handcraft articles, which contain unique design, rich moral, skillful construction, dedicate technologies. The handcraft articles are smooth without any roughness. Especially the mouths, ears, eyes, tails of the mice are true to life, as a three-dimensioned folk picture of art.
