Sanmen Island

Sanmen Island (it has another name of Tuoning Island) covers an area of 5 square kilometers with a coastline of 13 kilometers. It is about 8.7 sea miles from this island to Hong Kong sea area. It is only 2 hours' drive to Sanmen Dock from Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Dongguan or Huizhou.

The most beautiful scenery of Sanmen Island is a bay called Moon Bay by the tourists. The radius of this bay is 300 meters and the sands are white, crystal and fine. The seawater is clean and transparent with the visibility of 5-8 meters. In a day of beautiful sunlight, swimming in the cool seawater, watching colorful fish swimming around, all of your troubles and tires disappear in a sudden, only serenity, coziness and nature are left. After you come back to the beach, you can play a little beach volleyball, catch some small crabs in the sands, or look for trumpet shells, urchins and colorful cobbles in the lavas on the shore. During the night, a good swimmer can try to swim in the moonlight and feel the tiny spots of light sparkling in the seawater.

Haishishanmeng Peak, the highest peak on Shanmen Island, is 298 meters in altitude above the sea level and it is the highest sightseeing spot in the sea area of Daya Bay. Mountains and seas here are charming and gentle with eagles hovering above and the sea melting into the sky. If you look as far as possible that the wonderful scenery of Daya Bay falls under your eyes. The legend tells us that as long as the lovers or tourists plant a Tongin Tree on their way to Tongxin Road, when they reach the top of the peak, wish for the Tongxin Stone in the middle of the mountains, and then throw the Tongxin Lock which stands for the faith of love into Tongxin Tower, the lovers would be blessed by the mountains and the sea. And it is the solemn pledge of love in deed.

You can dive and drive a yacht in Sanmen Island. The appointed diving area is surrounded Sanmen Island, Dahengzhou and Xiaohengzhou. Transportation: Drive along Jihe highway which connects Guangzhou and Sanmen Island, then drive towards Longgang. You will reach Shuitou after passing Dapeng. Go on driving along the mountain road and you can get to Dongchong Dock.. The drive is more than 3 hours. There are yachts on the dock which will take the tourists to Sanmen Island.
