Sun Yat-sen’s Former Residence is a two-floor brick-wood structure building with Chinese and western architecture styles at the same time.

The out look is obviously western style. There are seven red decorative arches at the top floor of this building. In the middle of the roof, a halo with a flying eagle with a coin in its mouth is decorated. The inside of Sun Yat-sen’s Former Residence is totally with a Chinese style: a lobby in the middle, and two rooms on the two sides. The walls are made up of pale bricks with white lines on it. The two windows are opened right opposite to the roof beam. There are revolving doors in four directions in the living room, the revolving doors all lead to the street outside. A couplet on the gate says: roof beam in the right place, people live happily. It is said that this couplet was written by Mr.SunYesen himself after the building’s completion. A well is at the right side of the yard, place around this well was the former house in which Mr.SunYesen was born. He was born here in December 11th, 1866.
