The Historic Site of Jintian Uprising of Taiping Heavenly Kingdom is on Rhinoceros Hill, west of Jintian Village, Jintian Township, and 27 kilometers north of Guiping proper. Rhinoceros Hill, some 700 meters long, 350 meters wide and 50 meters high, covers an area of about 61 acres. The tall trees, verdant grass, colorful flowers and sweetly singing birds—all constitute poetic and picturesque scenery of the hill.
The historic site now consists of Uprising Exhibition, Ancient Barracks, Hong Xiuquan (a leader of Jintian Uprising) Statue, Wei Changhui (a leader of Jintian Uprising) Former Residence, Soldiers’ Training Field, Fengmen’ao Battle Field, and Rhinoceros Pool, etc.
