Solitary Beauty Peak is located within the ancient Palace Garden of Prince Jianjiang, in the center of Guilin City. It covers an area of 6,100 square meters (about 1.5 acres). Towering 66 meters (about 217 feet) above ground, this peak has been a major scenic attraction in Guilin. It was made of limestone from shallow sea sediments about 0.35 billion years ago. It is renowned as 'Sky-Supporting Pillar in the South'. The famous Solitary Beauty Pavilion is located near the top of the hill. It is 7 meters (about 23 feet) high, 4.8meters in length and width, and covers an area of 10 square km. The Pavilion has 2 floors and is supported by several red pillars. The top of Solitary Beauty Peak can be reached after a climb of 306 steps. From here, there is a panoramic view of the city of Guilin, Li River, and the many, many limestone pinnacles.
