Xingping is a tranquil tiny village by the Li River. Former US President Clinton's visit to this village in 1998 brought this initiallly less known hamlet to travelers' eyes.
Xingping is an ancient town with a history of more than 1300 years. Apart from the well preserved Ming Dynasty architectures, which dominant the town, and fine wood carving dating back to more than five hundred years, Xingping boast some of the best natural scenery around the area, somewhat better than that that in Yangshuo. The seven mountains surrounding the village, two stone guarding at the entrance keep the place a spiritual sanctuary off the modern world.
Xingping is best visited on market days when the town get quite busy with locals from the surrounding villages swarming to buy and sell products.

Nice village and it's an advantage you can combine it with a bamboo floating over the best part of the Li River. Go to Yangdi for a bamboo floating trip to Xingping town. You will be amazed. In XingPing you can also visit the spot where the picture for the 20 yuan banknote is made.
