In the park, overlapping ridges and peaks, grotesque rocks, deep gorges, steep cliffs, layer-upon-layer ravine brooks and streams, and pouring-like-a-dancing-dragon waterfalls can be seen everywhere and have formed peculiar landscape.
Endowed with luxuriant forests, the park has rich wildlife resources. It features more than 1,000 species of plants, including the rare ones such as rarely-seen Round-Seed Lotus, growing-only-on-cliffs Kwangtung Pine, “living fossil” Formosan Tree-fern, Blood Tree, and Redbud Tree, etc, which are under state protection. It also features several hundred species of animals, the rare ones under state protection including Yao Mountain Crocodile-like Lizard, macaque, pangolin, etc.
All in all, Longtan National Forest Park, featuring imposing and steep mountains and gorges, luxuriant forests, rich wildlife, beautiful and changeful weather phenomena and agreeable climate, is ideal for holiday-spending, mountain-climbing, exploration, and camp-out surveying.
