Shanmu River, a tributary of the Wuyang River, has become increasingly popular for its picturesque surroundings with its clear water and the green mountains on both banks. It is 96 km with 19 scenic spots.
Drifting here is very popular and visitors could join others on the rubber raft or form their own group. To keep steady on the rubber raft, you had better find one who has the same weight with you. Two people sit in the rubber raft on the opposite side, the one sitting at back of the raft holds the pole, prop up if necessary, and mostly just drift with the waves.
It will take four to five hours to drift down the Shanmu River for nearly 16 km. Drifting along the river is breathtaking and without danger, even if the rubber raft turns over and people fall into the river, it will be merely a false alarm, for the water is only your thigh’s deep. So falling into water only means bathing in purified water or drinking the sweet purified water. For safety, there are convoy personnel along the bank of the rapids and shoals of the river. When crossing a riprap shoal, the stay bar must be put in the same direction as the rubber raft, remember not to put it between your partner and you, in case the riprap causes the raft to rebound and hurt you.
It is magical that the Shanmu River has peculiar pharmacology function. After drifting here, visitors with dermatophytosis are recovered , visitors with the slight cold will be as healthy as before naturally; even the wounds of carelessly cutting will not be inflamed; the visitors who drift along the river on a rainy day and get soaked in the water will not catch cold. Surprisingly if you often soak in the Shanmu River, it will be good for you if you have psoriasis.
