Public bus

At present in Tongren City, the cross-town buses normally charge 0.7 yuan (RMB) per person in the daytime and 1 yuan from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. The buses to the suburbs charge 0.3-0.5 yuan more.

Taxi

It is very convenient to go by taxi in Tongren City and the taxi fare is unexpectedly low enough. The basic charge within 3 kilometers is 3 yuan (RMB) for carrying a person, 4 yuan (RMB) for two persons, and 5 yuan (RMB) for three or four persons. If the taxi is running more than 3 kilometers, one yuan more is charged for every one kilometer. The taxi fare at night is a bit higher than in the daytime.

If you want to go to Yuping County or Jiangkou County, you can also take a taxi at Tongren Bus Station. A taxi normally charges 15-20 yuan (RMB) per person, but the driver won’t go until he gets four passengers.
