This decent sized city rests deep in the desert and is surrounded by several small sustainable Hui villages. Being a Muslim city, all major and minor Islamic festivals are celebrated. When it's the time of festivals, tourists in Guyuan city can see a full picture of local culture on display. When you stroll around the street at night, young people especially young girls are dancing joyfully. People who love singing songs will enjoy themselves with prairie songs which are originated from old folklores. The most interesting thing is that there are a lot of hotpot restaurants around the street, where groups of friends or families eat madly. At same time, you still can enjoy many delicious local special snacks in Guyuan.
