Cizhou Kiln, as a very famous folk pottery kiln in China, is located in Pengcheng, Ci Xian of Handan in Hebei and is the representative of pottery and porcelain in the north. These belonged to Cizhou of Zhangde government in Henan province in Song Dynasty (960-1279), thus it was said that “as to the fame of pottery, Jingde ranks No. 1 in the south while Pengcheng in the south”. Cizhou Kiln was the one rich in folk features and achieved a lot in Song Dynasty. The frit here is very rich, including white glaze, black glaze, Jiang (dark reddish brown) galze, green glaze, etc, among which white glaze ranks No. 1.
