With the constant improvement of the infrastructure in recent years, by now Qinhuangdao has formed an advanced network of highway transportation with the Beijing -Qinhuangdao expressway as the trunk line, other national highways and provincial highways as the subordinate lines. Besides, they have also built a road along the coastline. The entire distance connected by highway has reached more than 3,000 km, so the traffic by road is highly convenient.

There are two major automobile stations for the long-distance high speed passenger transport in Qinhuangdao city proper. In different periods of time every day, there are high speed passenger buses destined for tens of cities like Beijing, Tianjin , Shijiazhuang, Tangshan, Baoding, Hengshui, Laishui, Yi Xian , Shenyang, Handan, Jinzhou, Wukang, Zibo, Zhangjiakou, Huanghua, Cangzhou and Zhuozhou.
