It has another name as “Mulberry Bark Paper”, since it’s made from the mulberry bark. With fine and smooth quality, even thickness, and permanent bright color, it can be used for both calligraphy and painting. Highly favored by both Chinese and foreign artists painting and calligraphy, it has also found its way into the markets of Japan, Germany and other countries and regions.
The raw materials, mulberry bark, have to be dealt with the following steps. First, cut off the scars and small twigs of mulberry tree braches. Second, select the suitable parts, neither old nor tender, of the even round tree branches, then put these branches in water and take the barks. Third, deal with the barks with modern handmade techniques so as to make them into crude paper. Finally, cut the crude paper into pieces. The homemade paper can only be approved to release after strict examination.
