Hegang is a modernized city with high-rise buildings of various styles, broad urban road, garden-type squares and urban sculptures with profound connotation. It features an abundance of forest resources with the forest coverage of 58%. Besides, woods and wildlife abound in Hegang, and the main tree species include Korean Pine, White Pine, Manchurian Ash, Amur Cork Tree, White Birch and oak tree.

There is an island named Mingshan that is in Chinese side of the boundary river’s main channel. The Mingshan Island covers an area of 0.53 square kilometers, boasting diversified hardwood forests, superior ecological environment, migratory birds and a number of rare and precious animals such as foxes, yellow weasels and squirrels. Besides, the Russian Jewish Garden is the only venue on the border line of Heilongjiang Province where visitors can appreciate the scenery of two countries and experience Jewish customs.
Tour of Ethnic Minorities
Heilongjiang Province features a number of ethnic minorities. The major ethnic minorities include the Oroqen nationality, the Ewenki nationality, the Hezhen nationality, the Mongol nationality, the Manchu nationality, the Korean nationality, the Hui nationality and the Xibe nationality. In order to show the cultures and customs of 10 major ethnic minorities in the province, the first folklore and culture garden of ethnic minorities in Heilongjiang Province is built in Tianshuihu Park in the west of Hegang City. The folklore garden is a large-scale sightseeing area that integrates the art, folk customs, marriage customs, local performances and folk dwellings of 10 ethnic minorities.
Mount Putuo Religious Culture Scenic Spot
Mount Putuo Religious Culture Scenic Spot is located on Mount Lulin in the southern suburb of Hegang City, which is famous for the building of North Putuo Temple. The scenic spot covers an area of 128 hectares, consisting of North Putuo Temple, Sanbao Temple, the open-air Buddha and Buddha statue. During Buddhist grand ceremony, the scenic area is crowded with a large quantity of religious believers.
Tour of Ice and Snow
In winter, Hegang City becomes a world of ice and snow, which is an ideal area for ice and snow tourism.
