Harbin is located in the southwest of Heilongjiang Province in northeast China. The winter here is long and cold while the summer is short and cool. Harbin has long been famous throughout the world for the ice and snow culture. It is reputed as "the Ice City". There are dozens of large and well-equipped skiing resorts, including the largest skiing tourist resort in Asia-the Yalibu Skiing Resort, the Double-Dragon Mountain Skiing Resort. The Harbin Ice and Snow Festival is held once a year, which is a grand occasion for the city. During that time, people can enjoy all kinds of ice lanterns and sculptures.
