The city of Qitaihe is a new rising, modern, industrial city. Resembling a bright pearl it lies in Northeast China. The city has the perfect tourist resources with a combination of natural scenery, historical relics and places of cultural interest. The Taoshan Mountain, Immortal Cave Mountain, and Wanbao Mountain surround the city of Qitaihe like the three angles of a triangle. Wanbao Lake and Taoshan reservoir are embedded like two pearls in northern and southern parts of the city. The Woken River runs through the entire city. The beautiful natural scenery of three mountains, two lakes and one river has formed the special city of Qitaihe.
The recently developed West Circle Natural Preservation Zone with beautiful paths, thousand year old trees, green hills and rare rocks has become a famous tourism spot in the eastern Heilongjiang province. Every year sees thousands of visitors to the area. The newly built Wanbao mountain ski resort and Immortal Cave mountain ski resort greatly enhance the reputation of a ski tourist destination.
The city of Qitaihe has an area of 6221 square kilometers and has a population of 860 thousand.
