Bai Juyi (CE 772-846) was a great poet of the Tang Dynasty, who had written many distinctive poems, and many of his poems reflected the hideous social current situation of his day, and had a grand influence upon the later generations.
Bai Juyi lived in Lion Bridge Village, the outskirt of Luoyang City. That site now becomes a memorial museum, covering a total area of 6 hectares. The museum consists of The Former Residence of Bai Juyi, Bai Juyi Memorian Museum, Paradise Garden, Bai Juyi Academic Research Centre, Tang-style Cultural Amusement Park and Business Street, ect.
The Former Residence of Bai Juyi, was reconstructed to its original look, with the southern part being Bai’s residential area, and the northern part as a park and a lake. The Tang-style Bai Juyi Memorial Museum displays many Bai Juyi's belongings, together with a poet's statue inside. The Paradise Garden is designed in accordance with his famous poems like "The Story of Pipa". And the Tang-style Cultural Amusement Park would also be a great place for visitor to have fun and learn some knowledge about Bai Juyi and the Tang Dynasty. In addition, the Tang-style Business Street will provide tourists with various kinds of services for shopping and entertainment.
