Henan Opera, Luoyang

Henan opera is one of " four major types of operas " of our country, which took shape in the period of Qing Dynasty and has already had a history of 300 years or so till today. Because the wooden clappers are struck as the musical background , the opera has another name called " Henan wooden clapper ". Early Luoyang Henan opera originated from the west of Henan ditty of Henan opera in the early years for MinGuo-the Republic China. Ma Jinfeng is an opera artist of the older generation , praised as " the peony of Luoyang ", because of his loud and sonorous vocal music. Even today his artistic performance with extremely high attainments is still popular among the audience. Nowadays a group of young and middle-aged famous actors of Henan opera such as Zeng Guanglan are now popular in the urban and rural areas.
