Huiluan Stele is the only relic to record the covenant between Song state and Liao state in Chanyuan. It is 2.6 meters high, 1.3 meters wide and 0.36 meter thick. A poem written in cursive hand by the famous minister Kouzhun was carved on the southern face of the stele. In 1004 A.D., Shengzu of Liao State, Yelv Rongxu, together with his queen mother led 200,000 soldiers to attack Song State and reached Chanzhou. Emperor Zhenzong of Song State led his army to fight back and finally defeated the army of Liao. Finally the two sides made an peaceful agreement at Chanzhou.
