As Henan province locates between the marginal areas of the Warm Temperate Zone and the Semitropical Zone, the climate has distinctive transitional characteristics. The geographical landmark between the Warm Temperate Zone and the Semitropical Zone in China-Qinling-Huaihe line runs through the Funiu Chine and the costal areas along Huaihe River in Henan province. These areas, Xinyang, Nanyang and part of areas in Zhumadian, in the south of this line belong to the wet and half-wet areas of the Semitropical Zone.
