Inner Mongolia National Song &Dance Troupe consists of 12 functioning departments. They are Song and Dance Ensemble, Mongolian Drama Troupe, Ethnic Symphony Orchestra, Mongolian Youth Chorus, Mongolian Ensemble, Wild Horse Horse-head Fiddle Ensemble, Center for Films and TV Plays, Stage Art Production Center, Artistic Creation Center and Performance and Exchange Center.
In the Troupe there are 51 nationally first-class actors and actresses, 141 nationally second-class performers. The major tasks of the Troupe are to produce and perform ethnic songs, dances and Mongolian dramas; and to improve the all-round development and booming of various ethnic arts such as the symphony, Mongolian choral art and ethnic music, which has the horse-head fiddle as its typical symbol.
Its performances are well liked at home and abroad. The Wild Horse Horse-head Fiddle Ensemble plays music in a unique way, and pieces of music like Galloping Horses, Two Steeds of Genghis Khan and the Early Rising Sun are popular in China and other countries.
