Around a hundred years ago, Stanley was a poor fishing village with a large population, but overtime time it has been developed into a prosperous community and famous for its market.

Stanley Avenue near Stanley Bay, has a great selection for restaurants and bars where local foreigners relax on the weekends.

Stanley Market is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Hong Kong and the nearby Meili Building beside the sea is a wonderful example of Victorian architecture.
