my mom and dad were Hakka, Hakka means a guest living in a new area, their ancestors suppose to come from Northern China so most Hakka area now is locate at the Southern China, the food they bring along is very much carries Northern food's characteristic, not much seafood, mostly salted pork and poultry (no beef because Cow helps in farming so most Hakka people do not eat beef) There is fish on the menu but mostly fresh fish from the river, very very tasty food! Uncommon.
