2012 Chinese New Year Night Parade is to kick off at 23rd January in Hong Kong . Praised highly as one of the most worth-watching amusement events around the world by Lonely Planet, Chinese New Year Night Parade will be held for the sixteenth time this year. It is also the most popular Chinese New Year events in Hong Kong.

It is a carnival-like event features themed floats which are elaborately decorated and brightly lit, spectacular international and local performing groups and marching bands who will give fantastic shows along the parade route and traditional lion dancing (Lion Dancing is the most popular folk dance in China. The lion is known as the king of the beasts and in Chinese tradition is considered as a mascot that can ward off bad luck and disaster and bring peace and prosperity.) and dragon dancing (The Dragon is a mascot of peace and good luck in the eyes of the Chinese people, no matter where they live in the world. Dragon Dancing performances are customary at events like festivals, celebrations, benediction, memorial ceremonies, and temple fairs, Over 100 different Dragon Dances have developed over thousands of year of performance.). The night parade lasting from 8:00pm to 9:30pm and there will be a great street party along the parade route as a warm-up to the parade at 6:00pm. The routes will be closed to vehicles two hours before the parade.  

Date:  23rd January (the Chinese New Year Day)

Time:  8pm - 9:30pm

Route: the Hong Kong Culture Centre Plazza in Tsim Sha Tsui→along Canton Road →Haiphong Road→Nathan Road → Salisbury Road → the intersection of Salisbury Road and Chatham Road South → the New World Centre.
 
Admission:
  People can watching the night parade along the parade route for free; also can buy ticket to sit at the spectator stands at Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza and along the parade route. The ticket prices range from HK$180 to HK$300 per person.
 
Tickets:
  Available at HKTB Visitor Centre at Star Ferry Concourse, Tsim Sha Tsui.

Uhm, isn't Chinese New Year (and hence this year's parade) on January 23rd? I think the dates on this site are from last years celebrations.
