Longxing Teaching Temple

It was built on AD628, the second year of Zhenguan Period of Tang Dynasty, with a history of one thousand and three hundred plus. The temple was built along the hill, composed of the Mountain Gate, the Passing Hall, the Great Hall of Mahavira, Back Hall, East and West Attached Hall, Sandalwood Pavilion, the hall of Amitabha and Avalokitesvara. The Great Hall of Mahavira was built in the end of Yuan Dynasty and the beginning of Ming Dynasty. It faces south and has three layers, five rooms each. Inside the hall, there are 24 big wooden pillars, each need two people to hold in arms. Before the temple, there are east and west stairs, with low base. Before the hall, there is a stele “Buddha Land at Sight”.

Longxing Teaching Temple is very rich in architecture and decoration arts. The lotus in the Great Hall of Mahavira is very delicate, which is said to be made in Ming Dynasty. It is a special treasure in China.
