Beijing-Guangzhou railway passing through from north to south and Wuhan-Chongqing railway from west to east are linked together by An’wei railroad. While Sichuan-Wuhan railway which is under construction crosses Xiaogan region. The two national highways---Beijing-Shenzhen (107) and Urumqi-Fuzhou (316) and the Beijing-Zhuhai highway which is under construction join in Xiaogan urban district, within which there are 214 arterial highways of province, municipality and county level that form a meridian-and-parallel net and connect every corner of the whole city. Therefore, the density of roads in Xiaogan tops any other city in Hubei province.
