White Hyacinth Bean, Huzhou

Hyacinth beans have black and white ones. The black ones are called Ming beans, also named Que beans while the white ones are called White hyacinth beans. Since white hyacinth beans is used to being planted along the pond bank and growing by tangling around the poplar tree, it is also called Yang’an beans. Linghu Town has many fish ponds with poplar trees planted around them, which is just suitable for the growing of white hyacinth beans.

White hyacinth beans have rich nutrition. It may serve not only as precious nourishment, but also as cooling beverage in the height of summer. Furthermore, it may be used as medicine to treat illnesses. During the past few years, Linghu white hyacinth beans have found a good sale abroad as export commodities.
