Nanjing, an ancient metropolis of six different dynasties, known all over the world as one of the four most ancient cities in China, with history of more than 2,500 years, is the capital of Jiangsu Province now. Called Ning for short and Jinling in ancient times, Nanjing lies in the southwest part of Jiangsu Province, south of the Yangtze River. With the statistics, there were traces for the ancient peoplews activities 300,000 years ago, and the primitive villages appeared 6000 years ago.
