It is famous for the long history and places of historical interest. In addition, it is the tomb place for the martyrs of modern times. So it is rewarded to be AAAA scenic spot as well as the base for patriotism education.

It is said that in Liang Dynasty, the preach of a monk named Yunguang here was so moving that the fairy spread flowers. When the flowers fell to the ground, they turned to be colorful little stones with different shapes, which was the well-known Yuhua Pebbles later. That’s why it got the name “Yuhua Tai”(Rain Flower Terrance). From then on, many poets described the beautiful scenery here so that it was so popular for tourists, especially in Ming and Qing Dynasties. After liberation, not only was a martyr cemetery built in the north of Yuhua Tai, but also was Yuhua Tai repaired by plan. Now, it has a new look standing in front of the tourists.

The whole scenic spot covers 153.7 hectares, comprising human landscape district and natural scenery district. For the first district, the best ones are districts of historical interests and cemetery, where you can view many ancient pavilions, steles, terrance and martyr museum, monument and so on. For the natural scenery, the 90% forest coverage gives you refreshment after tiring work. And you can enjoy the specialties Yuhua Pebbles and Yuhua Tea here.

The best time: The 4th and 5th, April each year are the memorial days for the Martyr Cemetery in Yuhua Tai. The Yuhuashi (Rain Flower Pebbles) Art Festival (annual) is held here every year from late Sep. to early Nov.

Shopping: You can buy the local specialty- Yuhua Tea in the scenic spot.
