Listening to Bell Toll in Hanshan Temple on New Year's Eve, Suzhou

Place: FengQiao scenic spot, Hanshan Temple
Activities: This is the earliest, most influential and enduring special tourism occasion which has been held for 26 successive years and welcomed nearly 160,000 tourists from home and broad since its beginning.
1. Family Reunion Dinner on New Year’s Eve
As the night falls, tourists from home and broad gather in the big Hotels to dine with Suzhou municipal leaders and public figures from various circles. Moreover, PingTan, Kunqu opera and Guzheng music liven the atmosphere. Abbot from Hanshan Temple comes to the scene and wields the brush to write down New Year wishes, wishing the guests a happy new year.
2. The Temple Fair in FengQiao scenic spot
After the dinner, all the guests drive to the well-known FengQiao scenic spot to attend the New Year Temple Fair. In the night the scenic spot is brilliantly illuminated with dragon and lion dancing, deafening sound of gongs, drums and laughter of people. Everywhere in the spot people can enjoy some special temple fair activities like folk color lights, local performance, local snack, folk handicraft exhibition, etc. They can watch kinds of performances, taste snacks, guess lantern riddles, being sucked in a happy and harmonious atmosphere.
