General Introduction to the City
Ji’an is always referred to as “the city of writings and etiquettes” and "Wangjun south of the Long River” (Wangjun is a city of Anhui province famous for its large number of men of letters in ancient China). It is 200 kilometers south of Nanchang-the provincial capital of Jiangxi. Located in the center of Jitai Basin, it is encircled by mountains on the three sides of east south and west. Thus its terrain is lower from south to north and from west and east towards the central region. The climate here is very comfortable and due to its abundant rainfall, this place is rich in all kinds of products. Therefore merchants come together in crowds and it was called “golden Luling” for a very long time in history. Ji’an is rich in many kinds of resources and has many places of great interest. At the same time its human culture is also very famous and is where Jinggang Mountain known as the “Cradle of Chinese revolution” locates.
