Jianshui is pervaded by revolutionary ruins, including the Tianjun Temple, which was the command center of Zhou Yunxiang’s anti-aggressor insurrectionary army in the Qing Dynasty, General Zhu De’s former residence, the Jianmin middle school, which was communist’s secret activity center of southern Yunnan, Xilin Temple, which was the Congress site of the Yunnan Provincial Communist Committee and the Zhang’s Garden, which was the activity center of the communist organization “Nine-Person Group”.
