Mianhu waxgourd Cubes, Jieyang

The waxgourd cubes produced in Mianhu Town, Jiexi County have had a history of more than one hundred years. They use good waxgourd from Chaoshan and superior white crystal sugar as raw materials. It combines the traditional technology with the modern mechanical assembly-line technique. After a series of processes including cutting away the skin, cutting into thin strips, being pickled in limewater, rinsing, boiling, rinsing again, being dipped in sweet water, stewing and cooling, waxgourd cubes are completed. Mianhu waxgourd cube is in the form of strip. Its surface is dry while its inner is wet.  It’s transparent and looks beautiful. It’s crisp and sweet without dregs. It has the function of clearing heat.
