Didu Blue Crab, Jieyang

Didu blue crabs grow in abundance in the interjunction of the river and the sea in the lower reach of the Rongjiang River. Its crabmeat is delicious. People praise that Didu blue crab is as sweet as honey.  Blue crab can be divided into two kinds. One is meat crab and the other is fat crab. Meat crab is a kind of common seawater crab. Fat crab is commonly called “Red Crab”.  All fat crabs are female. It has a lot of crab meat which is commonly called “Red Fat”. Its shell is red with a hump. Its meat is fleshy and firm. Either meat crab or fat crab has rich nutritional and economic value. It’s not only a wonderful dish at the feast but also a good gift given to relatives or friends.
