Dongliao Taro

Dongliao taro belongs to areca taro. It teems in Dongliao Village, Yuhu Town, Jiedong Couty. It’s large and strongly fruity. It grows very quickly and its output is quite high every year. Its pulp is soft. It can be eaten in varied ways. It can be cooked to taro paste, be stir-fried or be braised with soy sauce.  Before or after every Mid-Autumn Festival, it comes into the market. It’s sold to Hongkong and South East Asia. Many overseas Chinese return China to look for this kind of taro. After they taste it, they praise it’s the ultimate in all taros.
