It was historically called Yehedongcheng. Today you can see the relics of the old city walls at the west gate of Longshoushan park. In regard to the story of Longshou Mountain, there are quite a lot of legends. It has a number of pavilions, gravestones and buildings, etc which respectively recorded the relics in different periods of history. For instance, the Heben Pavilion, Kuixing Building, various inscriptions and the Monument to the People’s Heroes, etc all reflect the developing and changing history in different periods of the city.
Now, the construction work of Yehedongcheng is done to recover the original landscape of the ancient city. The west gate of Longshou Mountain is recovered to Yehedongcheng gate and 500meters to 1000 meters walls imitating ancient style as well as towers are being built. On the wall, we will put on propaganda pictures which will reflect the process of Yehedongcheng from beginning to end by strips. Nearby the west gate, a suitable spot will be chosen to build Yehedongcheng garden which will minimize the whole city based on a proper ratio in order to recover the original landscape of Yehedongcheng.
Besides, the infrastructure, complementary facilities and service facilities of every resort in Longshoushan park will be improved to a higher overall level. The children’s park and other resorts facilities and functions in the park will be continued to improve to a higher level. Also, the rebuilding work of buildings, pavilions, gravestones and doors, etc in each previous period will be done to recover its original appearance. At last, it is planned that a downhill ropeway will be built at the southern side of Longshoushan park to integrate organically with Dongliao River Aquatic Paradise and form a landscape line of joined mountain and water.
