Lying on the Huifa Mountain 17km northeast to Huinan County, it is the location of Huifa tribe, one of the four tribes of Nvzhen ethnic group in Ming Dynasty.
The ancient city faces Huifa River to the south, north and west, relying on the mountain ranges as the natural defense. Walls were mounded by stones and earth in the non-protective zones. The city consists of inner, middle and outer city, with respective circumference of 596．5m, 892．3m, and 1884m. Each city has 2 gates.
