Snowball Fight, Kashgar

Snowball Fight is also called "Game of First Snow". The first snow of every winter is regarded as a sign of auspiciousness and foison. The youths especially like play with snow.

Although it is named Snowball Fight, actually, there is no fight. At the beginning of the game, the participants have to write down on a piece of paper short poems about snow, along with the conditions, the number of people and scale of the losers' treating. One of them is required to hide it some place in the house without the others' notice, and then run away as soon as saying "I have hidden it". If the other can find the paper in a short time and catch the one who hides it, then the latter will be punished to wear his overcoat in-side-out and blacken his face with black ash. However, if he is unable to find the paper or catch the one who hides it, then he will have to feast his friends according to the conditions written on the paper.
